What's Next?

October 2, 2017

I've been working on writing novels for over a year now, and to say I love it is an understatement. I'm enthralled. Captivated. Obsessed.

I can't explain what it feels like to one day say to myself, "I'd love to read a story with a homeless character." And then a few days later say, "I should write this story."

(Even though I had an idea of what I wanted the story to be, it wasn't how it ended up playing out. Maybe one day down the road I'll write a blog about what Finding Home in Redemption was originally going to look like!)

I began working on Finding Home in Redemption and I fell in love with so many of the characters. I decided very early on that I was going to make it the first in a series of novels. Even though FHiR has an ending, I wanted to keep the characters around for a while, so each book from now on will focus on a different couple, with our beloved first book characters popping in from time to time.

Book two has been so much fun to write. Ivy, the main character and heroine, is an adventure craving, spontaneous young woman. She loves a good prank and once cost a teacher his eyebrows in an experiment gone wrong. She's unpredictable and I love that about her. She's independent and confident in her choices, even when marrying a perfect stranger.

Zane, on the other hand, is the epitome of a brooding hermit. After an ungraceful fall from fame, he is in need of a wife to make him look like he's settled down. He want's to get back in the limelight, and he's ready to do just about anything to get there. That includes whisking Ivy away from her hole-in-the-wall hometown and carting her off to Vegas for their nuptials. Yikes!

Redeeming the Darkness is the second book in the Redemption Series and is set to come out sometime in 2018. I'm currently in my first edit and I'm hoping I'll have a better idea by the end of the year.

Until then, Keeper of Your Heart, Pop's very short story will be available for purchase at the end of October (ebook only, as of right now). It's about 32 pages and lets you glimpse into the mind of Bentley's dad during all the crazy things that are going on in her life.

I'm so excited to finally get to start talking about Ivy and Zane's story! I can't believe I'm even doing it because it means book one is out there in the world.

If you don't know what to read during the time in between book releases, check out my blog (from April) on My Favorites: My Top Five (my top five favorite books!)

Thanks for reading!

Whitney
